Mind you, and I'll be honest, I just got the game yesterday, and I've yet to make these Godlike workshops everyone speaks of, but the one I did make made something like $200 a day... that didn't come close to covering my expenses for guards at a max security prison. I've come up with some other ideas, but I'll be basically running a sweat shop before it's all over with trying to make enough profity to mean anything, and it probably won't happen then without speeding time and walking away (and that's obviously a bad idea).
All the other bugs I can deal with, but some of them become a very nasty combination at this stage when it comes to the lack of grants, such as the foundation not completing bug :/ In all fairness, I expected this. The developers have been quite blunt about the Alpha nature of this game, and I can absolutely respect that. It's just one of those things that stands out as being glaringly obvious at this stage, which I can only assume they're well aware that the lack of initial funds coupled with the lack of grant money.
And all THAT being said, despite the bugs and lack of money, I'm still having a wonderful time with the game. Everytime I play, I say to myself, "These British fellas (I assume) have quite the knack for detail, humor, and know quite a bit about the American penal system... more than one probably should know, but it's still great." Really, just watching their last two patch videos, I'm wholly impressed with the amount of work that actually gets done each patch. I bought SimCity for $60, and not once in that game did I ever think I got my money's worth, nor that any actual progress was being made patch-by-patch.
