Good schedule
Anyone can help me with a good schedule for the prisoners? Cause my current one seems to be good but as I go further its starts to get worse. Their needs and suchs change each time so

Sleep 11 PM-6 AM
Shower 6-7 AM
Eat 7-8 AM
Free time 8-9 AM
Work 9 AM-1 PM
Free time 1-3 PM
Work 3 PM-7 PM
Free time 7-8 PM
Eat 8-9 PM
Free time 9-11 PM

You'll always have to alter your regime to account for whether your prisoners' needs are met or not, but that should be a decent base regime. If the only reason you feel your regime is "bad" is because you need to respond to your prisoners' needs, then it's fine and you can keep using and modifying it.

yeah there is a lot of room for play with scheduals and sometimes curbing a riot is a matter of making a quick adjustment. I try...

11pm-6am Sleep
7am Free Time (w/ a quick Bang up to wake them up)
8am - 9am Eat
10am - Free Time
11am - 3pm - Work
4pm Free time
5pm Yard
6pm-7pm Free Time
8pm-9pm Eat
10pm - Free Time

Oy. Seems like a lot of work every day to do that. Good regimes should be "set it and forget it."

actually i check their needs first, if a majority of my prisoners have high bowel, wee and hygenie needs i find it easier to just to just take a second to do a quick bang-up than deal with a breakfast riot, cause they slept through that morning freetime i give them.

besides its not like you can just let this game run without watching it

(fiance bought me my own PA because I was always on our account..impacman007)

I find this schedule does pretty well and I don't have to change it. But I also have a shower/toilet room in the yard (not labeled shower) and a spare shower room that is just that a spare (all shower rooms have a section of a few toilets).

11pm-5am sleep
6am shower
7am eat
8am yard
9-11am work
12pm freetime
1-2pm eat
3pm yard
4pm-6pm work
7pm freetime
8-9pm eat
10pm freetime

The extra eat time helps with those prisoners just being shipped in. And my yard also has a room (no doors just open walls) for recreation and phones. I haven't ran into any riots yet. I had to laugh and watch one prisoner that suddenly showed me he had keys..he still hasn't tried to escape even though he works in the workshop and goes by the front gate twice everyday to get the metal sheets..Laughed and told fiance he must love my prison..XD

I disagree. In its current state, it's entirely possible to ignore your prisoners with the right regime that addresses all their needs. The trick is getting new arrivals in sync with existing prisoners.

Simple trick for mornings - wake everyone up with a Shower hour. Put toilets in your shower. Two birds, multiple toilets.

That's a lot of food time. While you pay a flat rate for food right now, you shouldn't have to feed your prisoners more than twice a day. If you get some into the red, they'll be more motivated to eat. Use freetime after eat to extend time for slow movers while giving finished prisoners the option to do other stuff.
GameKitten Jul 30, 2013 @ 4:07pm
If you give them freetime ..just after they eat..they will lollygag to work. At this schedule I am still making almost 15k a day from their work. I rarely see any red in needs..and if I do it is so tiny not to actually matter and it's usually from a large shipment of prisoners. I have happy prisoners and as mentioned my fiance and I laugh at the prisoners that chance upon keys and never try to escape ..

I also set my yard up so it covers all needs while in the yard. Yes, it is a lot of eat time, but I don't mind..they are making money and they don't riot..which in turns makes me happy, so I can continue to build and plan more on my prison.

You can also use the schedule to direct your prisoner's paths, and to maximize profits.

Instead of the prisoners walking to the Canteen from wherever they were during Free Time, I set Yard before Eat, and since the Yard is right next to the Canteen, I know the path the prisoners will take, and they will all get to eat ASAP when the schedule calls for it.

To max profits, I put my Showers right next to my Workshop, and have Shower right before Work. As soon as Work comes up, they only have to walk 10 steps and they are working right away, instead of waiting for them to get there from something far away like the Canteen.

BINGO . . . Toilets is one trick for the showers . . . :-)

But don't give away all of it . . . people need to experience themselfs what works! :-)

@Jamesc70: That is great stuff, you nailed it with your set-up . . . But also for you . . . Don't give it all away . . . people need to experience themselfs what works! :-)

Happy gaming . . . :-)

Toilets work well in yards and canteens also. A lot of times prisoners just stand around if they aren't doing anything... look at their needs; I bet most have bladder/bowel listed.
