Game won't start up on Surface Pro... thoughts?
When I go to start the game up it immediately says that prison architect.exe has stopped working. The game begins to run and the screen goes black but nothing else occurs. If anyone has a Surface Pro and found out a fix for this and/or if any developer could shine some light on my situation it'd be much appreciated cause I absolutely love the game (played it briefly on a friend's pc) and wanted to give it a go myself. Thanks in advance!!

Chivalry is not an Alpha game.

I highly doubt the PA Developers have put extensive development or testing into touch-surfaces like the Windows Surface series, not even thinking about Windows 8 compatibility.

Touch-screen compatibility is not the issue. I want to play this game on my surface with a mouse and keyboard but it doesn't launch. As far as I can tell, the game can't seem to generate the prefences.txt file. Atleast, that's what the debug file is telling me.

At least one other user is on Win8 and was able to get it working, though they were having ATI issues, so it may or may not be an OS issue. Its hard to tell at this stage of the games development.

Yeah, I asked him why not on pc, because he's currently playing Chivarly: Medieval Warfare on his pc. I doubt he's using the Surface Pro for that.

I had the same problem, re-installed the graphics driver found here: http://www.surfacetablethelp.com/2013/05/surface-pro-windows-8-intel-hd4000-driver-download.html and it seems to work now (although I haven't actually played it yet as I am at work, but it did start this time).

Let me know how this works for you.

I did this and created a shortcut to diable DPI-scaling and it works great now.

Thank you! I had the same issue with my Surface, works a treat after updating the drivers.
