Why are my doors stuck open?

When i make a structure and place a door, the door is inside the wall next to it. The only way i can close it is if i put it to " closed locked" or what ever it is. It does it for EVERY door. Please help!

Do you actually have any prisoners yet? The doors won't close until they arrive to alow the workers free access to everywhere intitally.

OMFG I FEEL SO STUPID!!! But i love you!!!!!! I diddnt play for a week because i diddnt want to build then it not work! Now that i know this i feel like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiot! hahahah But thanks man! Thanks SOSOSOS MUCH!

ive got prisoners in my prison but the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DOORS WONT CLOSE AND KNOW I CANT PLAY THIS OTHERWISE AMAZING GAME

Also, doors will stay open if you haven't hired any guards yet, too. Not sure why. I've noticed that since I hire extra workers and no guards to get the buildings up quickly (then fire the extra workers until I have more money, of course). Once I got at least one guard in my prison the doors all closed.

Guards are needed to open jail doors. If you don't have guards there's no way for the rest of your staff to get where they need to go if they need to pass through a jail door that isn't locked open.
