Game randomly crashes after 5-10 minutes.

So I haven't been able to play more than 20 minutes of this game because it crashes before I can get anything done. It works fine at first, I can save the game and load saved games but after about 10 minutes the game just decides to randomly freeze until I get a pop up saying "Prison Architect.exe is not responding." and I have to close the game window.

Also when I try to play the tutorial it always crashes at the same point no matter how fast or slow I do it. Does this happen to anyone else and what can I do to fix it please help me!

Could it be that the crashes coincide with the game trying to autosave? If so, there are certain things you can do. Just search the forum for autosave crash. Some of the threads have the solution.

I assumed that. But the game has autosaved without crashing before, and I set the autosave timer to an hour anyway to see if it made a difference but it didn't.

actually i just found a fix that worked for me, i turned down the game resolution and it didn't crash!

I just wanted to say that after a painful number of crashes, I have realized that despite decent specs, I have to drop my resolution from 4k to ~2k for 100 prisoners, and then close to 1080p when the prison reaches 250ish prisoners.

Edit: 2k resolution for 400 prisoners has worked fine, but I keep it lower because riot scenarios will crash the game at that resolution.
