Water pipe help
A lot of the small pipes that I placed down aren't installing. The workers have nothing else to do, I'm not in debt, and it's weird how sometimes the workers install them but other times (this being one of them), they don't. It's easier to explain using a compilation of screenshots. The orange lines are borders separating each screenshot. The red circles are where the small pipes should go (I'm only circling the ones you can see clearly).

Try demolishing the walls sometimes they wont build there cause they cant reach it.

It happens sometimes. Best bet is to go back to an earlier save and lay pipe more slowly.

I think I'll just replace the small pipes with large ones. I planned on doing that once I saw my pipes not being laid down but I wanted to see if I could find an answer. Thanks for replying though~

Just make sure those unplaced pipes aren't in your inventory. If you go to Utils tab, make sure there is no number under small pipes. Work queues can get completely backed up by the small pipe glitch.

Just a note. Large pipes are, should be used to get the water to the areay you need to feed, but shouldn't necessarily be used to connect a toilet or shower head. I have had the best luck running a trunk line out and using small pipe to get a short distance, and when you take a screen shot, unless you are doing some fancy pipework art, it's much easier to figure out what you are trying to do.

I wish I had a screen shot to show you but maybe this will help.

Make a prison with a cell block. 18 cells on either side of the block. my block has a two wide hall so guards can beat a prisoner without having to go into the cells. I run a big pipe down the center line then take small pipe to the toilets on either side. At the end of the block is the shower stalls. I don't run the big pipe into the shower area just run a small pipe out the end and circle it around the shower heads.

Also keep in mind the previous comment regarding workers not being able to get to a spot. If there is something in the way, ie a switch or bed or something you don't see in utility mode they will just not do it. Best way to do it is to lay it out with the planner, put your foundation down then lay out your electrical and water before you drop a wall in place. Also i fyou use swtiches, valves you should put those in before there are walls, corners, etc in place. Nothing worse that paying 50 bucks to place a wall segment just to find out you have to destroy it to put in that switch or pipe.

my buildings are pretty, uh, //intricate// so that might be the problem. thanks for that btw!

This is what I've done to avoid the bug. After several prisons where this kept coming up and I kept working around it, I eventually just started using the large pipe only. It costs more but I've had zero problems (other than the "can't get to it" problems people have mentioned) and I don't have to worry about length, etc, so I use it just for piece of mind.

thanks for that~

On your first screenshot, I can see a lot of places where there are a big and a small pipe on the same tile. The bug is here. The small pipe can't be reused. Dismantle both of them and everything is fine again. Never put big pipes over small ones, some time the small one is never dismantle. And the workers are waiting for it.

dont put up the pipes directly to cell toilets , prisoners might just escape. Atleast thats what i heard of.
