How about a 2nd floor or third floor option?
First off I like the this game quite a bit . I keep playing it over and over just building new prisons and chaging the layout every time I do.
One thing that I keep thinking is why don't we have the option to build a 2nd floor onto the prison. Think of what this could mean!
1)stairs and elevators would be a new option
2) cell blocks could be made 2 or 3 floors like in must prison movies you see.
3) it would add so much build space for a map
4) Prisoners on the 2nd floor could not digout of their rooms...they could jump out the window instead.
Well those are my thoughts. I wonder if other people would think this would be a good add on to the game? Post what you think and any thoughts on the subject.

Devs have said multiple times that they wont be adding in multiple floors into the game. Maybe when it's finished a modder will do it, but that's the only way i can see it happening

Happy to see the dev not going this road.

If the devs put in multiple floors, you could just put all cells above ground and boom, zero escapes with zero effort. Also it would mean compact prisons, which look way less impressive than the current huge prisons.

Not really 0 escapes.. Prisoners can break through the doors, get guard's keys and unlock the door, fires, ect.

what they are saying is that basicly unless you get a riot daily and they have the means to aquire keys and what not they have very little chance to escape since they lose the option to dig their way to freedom.

They don't lose the option. You would need to run water to their toilet on the 2nd floor, they can tunnel through the small water pipe, it gives them a speed boost already, then they hit the large pipe, bigger boost, and find open ground.

How are they digging though a few feet of cement (or whatever the floor is made of for the second floot) and not immediately falling down or being discovered the instant they break through?

There is simply not enough flooring material to hide a guy digggin around the second floor and even if there was just the act of them digging is likely to cause that floor to crumble anywas much less fit inside of a small pipe to get to a large one....

At this point may as well just let the prisoners dig down to whatever is below them then let them try and run since digging out is not an option.

If you dont want this type of play style than dont play that way. A lot of people would like to see more realistic prisons and as it is now, there not. Multiple levels would achieve this for us and make it more intersting.

May i suggest, to preserve the cells on the second and third floor for necro-posters then?

Multi-Level-Buildings would just eleminate the need to handle your building-space carefully and probably add a lot of hardware-consumption. The game is fine, as it is.

Since this is a 2D game, if there are multiple floors, you won't be able to see anything going on on the other floors you don't have your eye on.

Let's say you're just relaxing on floor two, and the maximum security guys are about to start a riot on the third floor. If you just had one floor, you could've triggered bangup and prevented the riot, but it starts and gets out of control. The riot practically destroys the 3rd floor and you have to repair everything and get a new intake full of Max Sec inmates.

Personally, it just seems too much to manage, to me. That could be kind of a fun extra option kind of like warden mode for an extra challenge, though!
