How to use guard schedules?
I find it very confusing like many other game breaking components of this game.

From what I see here, I can only schedule in 1 hour slots and there is no way of choosing which patrol and stationary guards to schedule.

I have multiple guards patrolling and stationary. The white arrows don't seem to move.

How do I properly schedule them and can I schedule both patrols and stationary guards?

<bump> I would love to take the guards out of the Yard once Yard time is over.

watch aplha 26 youtube i think it is. they show how to use the guard schedule. if you drag the little white arrow [it will turn red] to the hour you want to set for say a "patrol" you can set them to it.

Firstly, "I find it very confusing like many other game breaking components of this game. "

Eh? It doesn't break the game. And what other 'game breaking components' are there? If you're stuck, have you tried asking or looking up on the wiki?

Regarding this one, you need to watch Alpha 28 video, not Alpha 26.

Basically, you set up where you want guards at any given time on the clock, and give that a number. Each number represents a schedule. So at breakfast if you want all the guards in the canteen, set that up then save it as a schedule on the tool for the time in question, say 9am.

Say it's number 1 for that schedule. If you want all the guards back in the canteen again at 6pm for dinner then on the schedule put another 1 at 6pm.

Want to extend the schedule past one hour blocks? Drag it out to extend it.

You can have up to 4 different schedules I think.

By the way, it's bugged right now. Won't remember your schedule when you quit, even if you save.

Very useful information, thanks! I added it to the wiki: http://devwiki.introversion.co.uk/pa/index.php/Deployment#Schedule

i get it now, easy to look at it like... when you click at the hours at the rulers schedule's setup a red arrow will show which represents a recording point.

The slots below are where you save any change made during the recording time.

So just ignore the white arrow. It just shows the present time.

Click in any hour you wish to record any change to the deployment setupat that time.

So basically i mark 1:00 PM with red arrow which means i'm about to record something there, so i click in the slot below to actually save any changes i make in the deployment, say i mark it with 1. Now that the red arrow and the slots are marked i just need to change the deplyment setup.

Once done with the changes, the red arrow also will show what is saved on the slots at that given time. The slots from where i see it is from 0-7, in other words you have 8 diferent possible setups for deployments. 0 = white color slots which are by default. All the 1 to 7 have their own color each.

So Now just run the red arrow around the hours to see what is saved there. Now when the white arrow meets the hours you already have changed for a diferent deployment setup the guards will change positions as needed to fulfill your schedule.

Just remember to set the hour with the red arrow first then clidk in the slot below to select which slots number you wish to save the changes and only then you make the change in the deployment.

Can't I set a same patrol for 2 different time slot? eg: 1 is night, 2 is freetime and 3 is eating time. I want my dog patrol around my walls during 1 night and 2 freetime (but not during eating). However once I have set the night patrol, I can't click again on that path to add a dog on the same path during freetime....

EDIT. the only work around is to have as much dot as time slot (eg: you can't set 2 time slot on a stationnary patrol)

Try adding it in the SLIGHTLY different location of the route.

The game sees these as different patrols and this is the limitation of its patrol data storage.

You can make it work. I believe in you
