Prisoners not leaving cells (Solved)
My prisoners are not leaving their cells at all. They're not suppressed, the canteen and all other rooms are open and I have all their regimes set up properly. It looked like all of their cells were open so I ran a lockup and disabled it, so the cells appear normal, but it didn't change anything.

Cells appear open even when on default mode. Guards and workers can move in and out but prisoners act as though they are locked in. Lockup will close the doors, but disabling lockup opens them again. This has no effect on the prisoners.

All rooms are open.

go to your deployment, is your prision blinking yellow? It sounds like the gaurds don't think it's secure and so won't uncuff your prisioners

The second image they've linked to shows the Deployment view.

It does, but as it blinks you couldn't necessarily see that in a screen shot. Also that spot between the laundry and cleaning cuboard doesn't look like there is a fence in place. I could be wrong as the angle is awkward though.

I had it blinking yellow before since I had the door locked open, but fixed that before I took the screenshot. I believe there is a fence in that spot, but I don't believe that would be the problem.

any area that a prisoner could in theroy escape from will result in the gaurds not allowing the prisoners out of thier cells. Again that is assuming everything is set correctly in logistics and sec lvls. Try walling in the area around your prision and setting the surrounding area to staff only.

Well, you're right, there isn't a fence around one little area. Unfortunately I don't have the money to fix it and nothing to sell so I'm basically boned. Not sure what's going on with the doors, either.

To both sides of your laundry, it looks like there is gaps. Could that be the problem?

You can always chop down some trees which will free up a little bit of cash when you sell those. Make sure you place a storage area. Maybe just enough to get the problem fixed. good luck! :)

It's the lack of a fence. Do you not ahve any trees you can dismantle or a loan you can take out ;-(

Plugging the holes in the fence fixed the problem! I'm not sure how I both missed this and realised it was the issue, I was probably running off of my experience from an older version where the prisoners would gleefully escape from any holes. Thanks!

Glad it fixed it. Try doing the fence around the perimiter thing, it makes outdoor prisons less problamatic.

Prior experience can be a problem sometimes. I looked at it, saw what looked like a gap and thought surely it can't be something that obvious.

90% of the time it is obvious. My favorite booboo went somthing like this:
Why can I not see in this room, I have a camara right there, and look there's a gaurd manning the CCTV console, I'll just send a gaurd in there. Heck why is it STILL dark... oh wait I forgot to install lights!!!

Thank you! my Prisoners weren't moving out or eating or anything, putting a fence around the prison made them start moving, Thanks!
