Nobody is doing laundry

There's something strange going on in my prison, my laundry used to work fine but now all of a sudden it has stopped working. The prisoners just stand still in the laundry building doing nothing and the janitors won't do it either. Meanwhile all the prisoners are complaining about their clothing. How can I fix this?

Have you tried checking to see if they have uniforms to clean? Look in the Delivery area. If you see uniforms, then they need to be brought into the prison before your laundry guys will do anything.

If you have your Delivery seperated from your Laundry by Staff Only zones, then this will prevent workers, even Janitors, from bringing new uniforms into your prison. Keep in mind that new uniforms will be bought over time and they will need to be brought into the prison in order to gte them into circulation.

At the moment I do not have any staff only zones, and some of the laundry baskets are full so I assume there would be something to do. Also it appeared my screenshot was set to private visibility so I set it to public, should show now.

Go to Logistics and choose Laundry distribution. See if it serves the areas you want it to.
You can right click on the yellow icon to reset automatically, or left click to manually set the service areas.

Then perhaps it is a pathing problem. try to create a direct route outside from the laundry room. either remove or lock open the doors in the next room and the infirmary to see if it helps.

This is a common bug when you change around the blocks the laundry services. It seems like the game gets confused by this and doesn't know what to do with the laundry that is all ready in the process of being done. This will result in clean laundry piling up tagged for areas that the laundry is no longer connected to, and prisioners just milling around. I found a work around that has worked for me-so far (days 70-100)

1)De-zone your laundry, this will result in most of the laundry baskets being removed
2) remove any remaning baskets, laundry and tables all those uniforms have to go.
3) Re-zone laundry
4) Quickly reconnect laundry to the proper blocks.
5) Keep in mind you will most likly have to re-set each laundry this way to completly fix the issue.. it's a pain but it has worked consistantly for me and a few others I've told about this.

BTW having deliveries seperated by staff only sections does not matter if you have janators athey will take care of briniging it in. All ny entrences are staff only and it works fine.

So I tried what you said, or at least I think I did it. But still the janitors only clean the floor and the prisoners just wander around in the laundry building... I'm starting to think this game just hates me

Your room looks pretty cluttered, where exactly is the system breaking down, I can't tell from your pics. Is the laundry making it to the room? Is it getting cleaned? Ironed? put back in baskets? Just not being delivered? Also are all those door locked open, if they are waiting aroung for the gaurds to open the doors it is gonna take forever to get that laundry back to your room.

There are prison uniforms in the room, but nobody is doing any cleaning or ironing whatsoever, they're just wandering around. The doors leading to the laundry room are locked open.
I removed all but 5 of the laundry baskets so it would not be as cluttered already.

that's a good start, if I were your I'd put those laundry machines right next to each other and leave 2 open squares at the front (i like to put 1 table accross the front then the ironing boards accross the bottom then fill in with a few baskets. I think your issues is clutter, everything else looks good from what I can see.

It seemed to work for a few seconds and then it stopped working again, thinking it might have something to do with how I've built my cell blocks but I can't figure out for the life of me what the problem with those is...

Alright nevermind, the problem all along seemed to be that there was no indoor path to the prisons. Thanks for all the help anyway!
