Can't Locate Save Files
Okay, this is strange. I'm unable to find the save files on my computer. I have looked in every Steam folder, Program Files, etc. I even searched hidden files. A search for Introversion reveals 0 files. A seach for Prison Architect brings up 14 files: 10 crash files from various crashes along the way, the game itself (exe file), the shortcut icon, the folder for the crash files, and the folder for the game.

Now obviously, I have save files as I can load, save and replay my games, so where are they hiding?

(BTW, I can find the save files for Civilization and other Steam games.)

Any ideas?

Was just searching the forums with the same question and found it:

It should be C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Introversion\Prison Architect\saves

Thank you for tryng to help. It really makes no sense. Obviously, I have the save files somewhere as I can load a saved game, but despite several searches, I cannot find them. I don't have the path you listed above. I searched the harddrive for Introversion and came up with 0 files. Then I searched for Prison Architect and come up with 14 items: the prefetch file, the desktop shortcut, 10 crash files, the application and 1 folder. I went through the entire folder, which contained languages, a video, details about the Steam store, etc., everything except saved game files. I even looked at the dates to see if I could find something modified today. The only file I could find with today's date was the prefetch file which calls up the game from Steam (and I payed today). Very puzzling..

The UserName part would be replaced with your windows username. AppData is also a hidden folder. Inb4 you're on a mac?

The easiest way is to click the link in the bottom left of the game's Load menu, it'll pop up the folder for you in the OS.

No, I'm on a PC. I didn't search hidden files. Should I try that?

AppData folder is hidden on defualt.

Why not open your save files from the game menu in game, it's a lot easier.

Wow! how do I do that? Am I really missing something so obvious?

Yes you are. Bring up the main menu and there's an option to Open Save Folder.

OMG, could that have been easier??? I don't know how I missed that. Was it always there? Turns out the file does indeed exist, and in the exact path specified, but it's a hidden file. Thanks so much, and please pardon my mental density.. I'm shaking my own head at my foolishness.
