Mail Satchels with 0 Letters Everywhere
"Major problem in the late game, Mail room ends up being swamped with mail satchels with no letters inside them. And thats early game.. In the late game Mail Satchels with 0 Letters end up swamping the delivery until the game slows to a halt. There are no ways around it. You can not dump them. You can not move them. You can not sell them. They are always there and there is no way to get rid of them." -WaKKO SicK

UPDATE: It has been reported several times on the Bug Tracker so they are aware of the problem.

WORK AROUND:
Use the Clear Indoor Area Tool to delete and trash all the items.

We could really use a Mod that allows you to DUMP mail boxes.

Yes. My deliveries area is full and trucks just wait until a worker can take the stuff to storage. Leads to huge backups.

Serious problem, pls to fix.

Ah, I have that problem too.
I did not even realize it until no food and no new prisoners got delivered.
Still no prisoners since 8 days, but I get the money for them. xD
Sadly there is nothing to do with it, because new materials wont get delivered. ; )

I had a 5x5m² mail room, it filled the 6x74m² delivery area with mail packages.
Bulding a bigger mail room did not help, I only have an additionalpacked 30x12m² room full with tables, sorting tables and overflowing with mail that I cant use for anything else because it would take more space in a storage anyway. -.-

I am thinking about buying a new plot exclusively for mail. xD

Does anyone know if the "Mail Bug"-thing in the workshop can fix this?

A brandnew 75x180m² delivery area "fixed" the problem.

There is a work around : The clear indoor area tool.
Just remember to put everything back to normal afterward.

The same bug is present for library book.

awesome thanks for the update. I will update the OP to include the work around and that it has been placed on the bug tracker. This is a great game made by a great group of guys. If history is any guide, I am sure it will be fixed in the next update.

Another workaround is to edit your save game file in WordPad, replace "mailsatchel" with "garbage" and all the satchels will now be gone.

Worked.

To find your Safe-File: Easy: Go to the Games In-Game Menu and click "Open Save Folder"

I have this problem as well, the mail satchels are filling up EVERYTHING. I have like, no room in my delivery area because the mail satchels are everywhere. Just like what this guy said, I might have to buy an entire new plot for a mail room.
