Permanent Lockdown vs. Permanent Solitary

Assuming you have solitary cells in every cell block, what is the difference between assigning a prisoner to permanent lockdown or permanent solitary?

Well, the permanent solitary is perceived to be the harsher penalty. I don't have anything but a toilet in my solitary cells and most people don't even have that I think. Contrast that with their normal cell which has a bed, toilet and bookshelves plus room to move around a bit. In the Grading part solitary counts as better "Punishment" than lockdown but then lockdown counts more than nothing.

Also, solitary is needed for all your prisoners who break the rules. The cell that the prisoner 'occupies' is still used, even if they are in permanent solitary, so its just more efficient to put them in theircells.

My solitarys a small Box with no bed or toilet. So solitary is quite worse.

Wow, I must be running a luxury hotel. My solitary cells are identical to my regular cells with beds and toilets. My permanent lockdown cells include showers, weight machines and tv's, and are, in fact, bigger than regular cells.

I would only consider a plush solitary for hard-to-please legendaries, who are actual threats.

They give you any trouble just assign an armed guard to sit in the cell, he'll eventully kill the problem.

My solitary cells are 1x1 and i have a minimum time in their for breaking the rules of about 60 hours. All you get is a concrete floor, no light or movement space. I build a specific room without any lighting to keep the the 1x1 cells inside.

You break the rules in my prison then you suffer, end of story.

Like the guy above me my solitary cells are just 1x1 outside in the yard.
Cause trouble in my prison you will be shoved into a little room smaller than a outside dummy and everyone can see you for shame!

Nope i live in australia (not an australian) but more likely than not they never cause trouble...
for 100 max sec prisoners with no trouble in 7 days thats a achievment in my books.
Which is a pitty because they dont try drilling any body to death and ive not gotten a legendary yet :/

for 100 max sec prisoners with no trouble in 7 days thats a achievment in my books.

Im running a 72 cells for medium risk 10 cells for protective, 12 for max sec (only for those who pass death row appeals) and 6 death row cells. never had any issues yet either, but i had a legendary deathrow inmate yesterday who didn't last a full day lol.

As soon as i have any prisoners arrive i use the informants to see their traits. This guy was a cop killer, highly volatile and everything. I did a shakedown not long after housing him and he was dead before i could move my screen to the death row cells... and an armed guard walking away like it was an everyday thing lol. Not sure how i could have stopped that. think i will leave the shakedown button alone now and manually designate search areas.

Heh now to speak of it i just recently gotten a legendary death row prisoner but he only has the extremly fast tought and is a skilled fighter so he isnt such an hassal but just before i saved my game for today i discovered i gotten a maximum sec legendary...
I know what i got to do tomorrow.

Well good luck getting him through the process. This guy i had, had no chance from the start. There was a bloody laundry list of traits, really tough stoical, fearless, instigator...everything. Don't think i could have stopped it...never seen a prisoner like that before, wish i had taken pictures now >_>
