I started a new prison for v29 and Visitation seems to be working fine for me. Don't know about Parole yet. Have you done the usual stuff - restarted the game, relaid the room type etc? Pictures will help diagnose problems

Unsure how to post pictures to a Steam discusion, and yes I've done the usual, started a new prison, reloaded the save, relaid the room... The nubmer of visitors just keeps increasing on the Todo list yet none ever come to the prison

Visitation works for me. Parole does not work. This happens: Chief and Warden sit inside all day, and even tough the parole program is active, they never get any visits from inmates. They never leave the paroleroom either, for days and days, so they max out on tiredness and never do any qued research. Even when I destroyed the parole room they refused to leave the area.

Figured out the problem with my visition at least.... I'd accidentally set it to staff only :)
Oops! That would do it.

Xlarge, I'm bummed to read that about Parole - that was my next add to my new prison.

I had a problem with visitation until I put staff doors in the room, not just jail doors. Not entirely sure why this worked, but it worked. Parole, on the other hand, is still problematic. One thing I've found is that if a prisoner is up for parole while in solitary/lockdown punishment, he will NOT go into parole, which makes perfect sense. HOWEVER, the next prisoner in line will not go either. The first in line HAS to be free at the time of the parole hearing, which is putting a huge wait on my prison since the next guy up for parole is quite the bad seed, and currently has accumulated 36 hours of solitary and 24 more lockdown.

My parole works fine, so does visitation.
I'm seeing the same thing with Parole that Xlarge is seeing. Does Parole need to be during Working or Free Time hours? I have a regular door on there but they (Chief and Warden) just sit and sit getting more and more tired. It didn't say they were waiting for anything in particular.

Also, my Visitation Rm like Classroom isn't enclosed by walls, it's not required. So, it's likely that the prisoners couldn't get to the VRm b/c they couldn't open the Staff Door.

After several tries with Parole I found it not working for me. Only once I saw that thing actually hapen, eg warden, officer, inmate and lawyer going inside a parole room. Inmate leaves unhappy as his "treshold" is way above mine limit, lawyer leaves but nobody else does. Warden and Officer will stay up in this room stucked sitting behind table for rest of their mortal lives. Canceling room, dismantling table wont "unstuck" them. Only sacking and rehiring them will make them moving again.
Better to wait for next alpha for fix I guess.

So far I did not notice problems, but please post those bugs in the dev forums ...
I had similar experience to DrZ - I had to sack and rehire the Warden and Chief. My 2nd go round with Parole is working although they are incredibly slow - at 4 hrs per session there is a backlog of 25 prisoners waiting for their hearing. Do the hearings scheduled during non-Work hours actually get prisoners brought in? I keep forgetting to check to see.

They do.

For me, the inmate and staff both show up but the lawyer never does.
I spent hours trying to figure out how to fix the very same problem with parole ... I just figured it out and it works now!

1) Go to Programs
2) Click "Edit Schedule"
3) Change Parole Hearing to no earlier than 10am (It is set to 6am by default when all your inmates are sleeping. No wonder they never showed up!)

Well, the problem with the Warden and Chief staying the rest of their lives in the spot that used to be the Parole Room, was solved by restarting the game. Suddenly they became unstuck.
And I did not have the problem with the schedule, I repeated the exakt same procedure and got it to work after the restart.
I like bugs that sort themselves out after a restart... :)
