No one is passing any educational program or training.
I gave them everything and I'm waiting to train some inmates to work in the workshop and so on. So far about 10-15 have finished by 0 passed. Same with other programs. It's like they are so retarded and uncapable that they can't finish any program that requires any type of training.

I've started the programs, made WORK time to 5 hours block, built everything, have the staff, teachers, foreman, offices and the rest of the stuff. Why is this?

Are you suppressing your prisoners? If they're suppressed they'll fail. It can also take a long time for prisoners to pass programs.
they have a higher chance if needs are met it seems too.

this one is al about ur regime. make sure they have had food, freetime and or yard depending on ur preferences in regime and ur prison layout (exmp. showers and toilets in ur canteen and yards) and scedule the programs in the nest timeslots.

I think a lot of them are supressed when they get punished for contraband... I'm meeting most of the needs and even have a protected wing for the snitches an ex-law enforcement.

Didn't get the part with toilets and showers in the yard and canteen. ??

if they have to pee it really effects thier concentration so you want to incourage them to take care of that need, same with showering. Avoid having armed gaurds, increase your meals to High/high to give them a 'well fed bonus' to give them an edge. Also ensure that either freetime, or meal time directly proceeds work time. This will result in prisoners that already have all thier needs met heading to class up to an hour early that way they are there when it starts rrather then wondeing in when the class is 1/2 over.

Thanks, I'll try these things out.
You can also schedule a very long or multiple worktime(s) and run multiple classes a day. There's a button on the schedule to reset all classes and it will auto fill any available times for classes you've "added". I ususally add classes until it says "no time" or "no rooms". I use different regime setups so my max sec, med, and min aren't all eating or in the yard at the same times. decreases violence it seems.

The issue with long classes is your prisoners needs will begin to get too high to pass any classes. I run a rotating regime where each sec lvl gets a 2 hour and 3 hour work block. I'm far too OCD to let the game auto schedual for me. I use the manual schedualer to be sure the classes are in the rooms I want.
Lastly once you get your classes innitially schedualed DON'T HIT RESCHEDUAL this is a common error. If you do your prisoners in long classes (especially ed programs) will sometimes shift to a different program/class or even start one that 1/2 done causing them to lose thier progress.
The classes do refill when they are done, the display isn't great but it works. just step away from the mouse lol

Thanks I'll try these new things and see how it goes.

Should I have staff door at the workshop for example or just the common door? It seems they get stuck and wait there and I have to open it manually often so they don't miss out on the training.
lissa_981 Jun 19, 2015 @ 7:44pm
common, that way they don't wait on staff to open it for them, I accually use an airlock system to get maxim use out of workrooms.

This requires jail doors which I lock open

Thanks I already have 3 guys passing the workshop course. I noticed that inmates with DRUGS needs have a very low chance even if not supressed. Which is reasonable.

The education system needs serious work. I don't care how suppresed people are, some would still prosper. Also some prisoners should already have Fundamentals of Education completed when they come into your jail. Its not like every prisoner didn't pass the 6th grade.

Any need in CAPS will seriously effect prisoners preformance. I think I'm going to disagree Taz, I think they did a good job on the system. While I wouldn't object to an 'educated' trait I really don't think it's nessecary. Als from a practical stand point it's one less class they have the option of passig. Non-addicts with an education would be murder tring to reform. All that's lesft would be religion, and if they happen to be athiests too...

that should work with regular doors or staff doors as well. in fact, an outside tile, or a disfunctional Canteen or Kitchen would also work. anything that segments Deployment.
You can treat drug needs with a behavior therapy or pharmachemical therapy. You take a risk with pharma route as it introduces drug contraband into your prision, but it is more reliable. I've had OD deaths before I had dogs out from prisoners in the infirmary just for medical treatment smuggling pills out.
