Generator not even powering lights? {SOLVED}
My Power Station is connected to every single light in the dam prison, yet half the lights don't even work. I've put on 3 capacitators, still didn't work. I but power switches in every room (and made sure they were connected) and still no light.
Its starting to ♥♥♥♥ me off, so can a Prison Architect pro tell me what i'm doing wrong? Please, and thank you

Is the power generator turned on?

Electric cables have a limited area of effect around them, as indicated by the color they emit. Your lights have to be within this area, it's not enough if you lead a cable to the edge of a room,

i have placed my wiring directly over each and every light in the prison

That's unnecessary for lights. A power line can support lights ~ 10 squares away. Try it without power switches. You don't need them in order to get light or things running. tbh, i have ~300 hours in this game and used power switches only twice.

Check in your Utilities menu that cables around your lights are green (powered). Maybe you will find missing cable. If not, please post a screenshot of your game in utilities menu

You can place up to sixteen capacitors in the squares directly surrounding your generator. All switches do is allow you to isolate an area of the power grid.

hey, your lights are fine, this is the fog of war. there is currently no staff in the shower, so it stays dark. you have to install cctv to uncover those areas.. (or put a guard in the room)

What you're seeing isn't a problem with the lights. You have the Fog of War enabled. It hides areas from view if guards or cameras aren't in the area.

Oh, I see. The lights are powered, but you have the 'fog of war' on. That means you can not see the areas where guards or CCTV cameras are not present. You can turn it off in game's save file
