No families visit ever
I have a visitor room with visitor tables, I have 324 families waiting to visit, yet none visit. What are they waiting for exactly?

What more do they need than a visitor table? Why are they waiting to visit.. why not just visit? I haven't seen anyone in the visitor room once yet :/

May we have some screenshots please?

Something's not right, but we need to be able to see your prison to work out what's happened.

It's ok I figured it out, they need some 'freetime' between 8am and 8pm so I've just deleted visitors room instead. I assumed if they got visitors a guard would just escort them from their cell to visitors room but apparently not!

Prisoners can go to visitation at anytime from 8am to 8pm they do not free time. Not sure but maybe they can not go during lockup. I usually have lock up schedule an hour at a time and have not paid much attention.

Yeah they pretty much go to Visitation anytime between 8 and 8.
Did you have a corridor accidentally staff only corridor in order to get to the Visitation? Might be that.

No, if that were the case they'd be escorted to and from Visitation by guards. That would, however, significantly slow down the number of prisoners going to Visitation.

I suspect that it's because you've got your prisoners on lock-down most of the time, and if you've built on the footpath beside the road that also blocks visitors.

Well I'm learning something new then. I accidentally had a staff only corridor in front of my holding cell, and I couldnt figure out why the holding cell said no access. Then I found out about my mistake, shared the corridor, and corrected the issue.

I thought accessing/leaving the Visitation Room had the same mechanic. Nice to know because I do have a corridor leading to VR and I wanted that corridor staff only.

Gotta make sure the visitors can get there too, they won't violate Staff Only areas.

If you delete Visitation, you better have a lot of phones around.

Actually I hope that they change this behaviour. I really would like it to be able to set specific areas to staff only to enforce the escort of prisoners!

This was the problem! I put the visitor room back, changed corridor to shared and now visitors room is always full (370 families waiting up to now).

Thanks!

Glad it helped :))
I had this problem. Full irl day not knowing why the hell visitors weren't coming. Turns out my visitor booths were in the wrong spot, lol. They can't be on the edge of the room, there needs to be 1 extra grid space where the prisoners sit.
