No interest in carpentry - why?
It is day 32 and no one of my inmates is willing to enroll at carpentry courses although I have loads of those who finished workshop safety. Any suggestions?

it's a bug if you have a shop in your prison no inmates will want to do the carpentry program.
remove the shop let some thake the corse then put the shop back in is your best optiion

Honestly, ♥♥♥♥ the shop. Until they've ironed out the effect it has on prisoners joining programmes it's not worth it.

Its a high source of income, even without carpenters, they will still process logs which are worth much much more than license plates, if I could prevent them from processing plates, I would have no money issues.

Exactly, with sheet metal to license plates you double your money. For $100 spent on a sapling becomes 3 logs (worth $50 each). A log turns into 4 planks (worth $200), and 4 planks is a superior bed (worth $400). So, turning a tree into planks makes 6x your initial investment, turning a tree into superior beds makes 12x your initial investment. Or, you can have a shop and claw back a couple of hundred dollars of your prisoners wages.

Not worth it.

Is it still buged, I was hoping they got in fixed in the new alpha. You can trick the game (or at least it worked in the previous one) by unzoning your shop over night which will immediatly intrest your prisoners in carpentry, then start the class and get prisoners in the que. After this happens you can re set the shop and the qued prisoners will attened classes as normal. When the class finishes (I think it's around 5 days) you need to repeate. It's a pain, but it works.

Thanks for the work around :)
But the shop increases the wish of prisoners to work, that's why they put it in.
I'm not saying that it's really any good income wise though.
This info has been a great help to me. Thanks guys. F*** the shop, it gives me like 400 a day in income. Time to do some ole' fashioned carpentry boys!

No, diffenet issue. You have peeps intrested, which they will not be in carpentry while the shop is acitve. In diagnosising your in-game issues the devil is in the details. If you want help with the exersism you must be specific and accurate.

To be fair, even before the shop was introduced I was never able to get any prisoners interested in carpentry, even in a 400 prisoner jail.
