If you move the shopfront onto the wall that leads to the outside area that might help.

Thanks for the advice but I already had it facing the yard and it was the same, but I'll give it another go later.

the shop must be in a wall, that belongs to the shop.

therefore a deploymentscreenshot would help

Okay, see the thick black outlines? Those show you what the game considers to be part of the room, and because of the order in which you built things the wall ended up belonging to the corridor instead of the room. Right now the walls adjacent to the holding cell and the morgue would work for your storefront.

I'm not entirely sure how best to fix this but I know the developers are looking into making room detection much more robust.

a tricky solution could be moving the wall one row up (you probably wanna do that anyway, or else all your shoppers are going to block the hallway), putting the Shop Front on that, and then Demolishing the Wall sections that the Shop Front are placed over before the Front is placed (or, if the Front is already placed, cancel the Dumping of the Shop Front).
then, you make the tiles directly to the south of the Shop Front Canteen.

it makes Food Distribution a little awkward, and some people may bring their Dirty Trays to that Canteen that you'll then need to Dump.

but it works. you could also place an Unlocked Door on each side of the Shop Front to make only that part of the hallway the same zone as your Shop, instead of using Canteen.

Thanks I'll try putting it through the morgue, not the best place to buy snacks :)

Tried everything I'm at a total loss, I sacked it off for the time being.

yeah morgue should work.

another problem i see is, that your protective costudy cant leave cells, cause their entrance goes through a med secure cell block.

and another thing, you should set your armoury and so on to staff only, that your prisoners dont steal your weapons.

This is how mine works.... Make sure the whole room is designated.

Note* .;......you only need 1 counter and not 3 as pictured

I gave up on my shop. It was working but with around 150 prisoners I was only making $25 to $30 per day from it. The only time I made more money was when my canteen bugged out and the prisoners were starving so they bought food. :)

Also, having a shop bugs out the carpentry program. Nobody was interested in carpentry until I removed the shop (which wasn't even close to workshop) and now I have prisoners doing carpentry and making beds which earns me thousands more than the shop did.
