Hi I was doing the tool clean grant, I did the giant serach where they search everyone and everything and It only crossed out the "Remove the supply of stolen weapons" But it didnt do the one that was "Remove the supply of stolen tools" And when a new day started it said that one of them wasnt done again.... Any ideas how I can do it,

I'm Having the same issue

The grant will only progress if you've removed literally every single tool and weapon in prisoner possesion. That requires doing a shakedown at night while the prisoners are asleep or in lockdown as they won't be stealing things then... but, try to do the shakedown so that it finishes before midnight (or starts after midnight).

It does seem that if the shakedown extends over the midnight barrier, it won't work sometimes.

start the search like in the evening, maybe at 8 so it finish before midnight, it fixed it somehow. Maybe is random. I added a lot of metal detectors and run shakedowns through the day as well :)

The grant only completes when you have found all the tools (I don't know the exact number). Do shakedowns every other night (every night will bother the prisoners). It might take a few times, but eventually you reach the magic number and the grant will complete.
Some notes on shakedowns:

1 - Start the shakedowns right when your prisoners sleeptime starts. IF it does not finish before their wake up time (usually 8 hours of sleep is normal) then you need more guards (a good ratio is 2 guards for every 5 prisoners). Always stop the shakedown when everyone wakes up.

2 - you should have a metal detector at every doorway that prisoners go thru on a regular basis. This cuts down on metal objects significantly. Also have dog patrols at your delivery entrance to your site (finds contraband coming thru) and anywhere you have large concentrations of prisoners gathering (yard, canteen, etc..).

For some more tips that might help you, feel free to check out my guide:

Can we just take a minute and look that I made this post in 2014...

Does the date really matter?
Do you know that other people can get help from posts like these? I don't understand why people think that we should check the date of a discussion and if it's older that you should than create a new post for the same type of discussion.

Because the game was in early development at that time and a lot of changes have happened since then. For this game, any 'problem' type post is too old if it is over a year ago.

For me this topic was very useful. And i'm happy that i found it on 2nd page. Wondering how much time i could spend if it was burried with rest themes of 2014...

Saving the game, then reloading that save, fixed the issue for me. Nov 2017...

except this one is still not old. the problem still exists and it still has the same solution:
1. do a shakedown
2. save and exit
3. load
4. ???
5. PROFIT
do you really think we need multiple threads for the exact same thing? it is probably better to keep everything related to this issue in here where it belongs and makes sense.

December 2020 and this thread still applies.

I've managed to do it after reading this - perform a shakedown and make sure it ends before midnight. I started mine at around 9pm as I had over 200 cells to search, and also ensure that from the start of the shakedown, the regime is 'Sleep' for all prisoners so they are in their cells (it makes it easier to search). I also took Luzilyo's advice and saved and re-loaded just to make sure.
