Stop making license plates to focus on wood?

So my prisoners are producing license plates and wood, but since wood planks are worth way more i'd rather just make those. Is there a way to stop them making license plates?

You have to make the presses unreachable. Add a small room off to the side of your workshop and place 1 press in it. Put a Staff door on it and lock it closed. Zone it in with the workshop. Dump any other press you have in the main workshop. That does it.

Why would you want to? License plates still make a profit, and you'll always have prisoners who can't make superior beds yet due to not passing Carpentry program, but have passed Workshop Induction. And there's only so much work to be done on the Saws.

Yeah I don't get this "I don't want to make licence plates" thing. I get the profit margin angle, but seriously, just get your prisoners working and occupied, there's plenty of opportunity to make lots of money with a well-staffed workshop.

it's because i have massive forestry areas and a large number of saws but the vast majority of the prisoners continue to make license plates when they could make wood for a much higher profit. my prison doesn't have much money and i'd rather make $1000 from a stack of wood than $160 from license plates.

Hmm, you'll have to force the issue as described above then, I guess. My guys do both, fine by me, but I guess it's just a different way of playing. :)
