Easy Tree Stump Removal
I don't know anything about modding or lua scripting, but I know how to do this! I find it annoying that after Alpha 17 you can no longer remove tree stumps. The thing is... if you build a Forestry room and plant the trees yourself, you will be able to fit more trees than if you leave it up to your Gardener. A tree takes up a 3x3 area, however, only the center square needs to be on the Forestry room. This means you can have 1 row of squares "hanging over the edge" of your Forestry room. Using this method, you can fit 16 trees in a 10x10 Forestry zone.

At any rate, back on topic... Once a tree is cut down, you have to wait a day or so for the stump to decay. If you have WinRAR or another archiving program, you can use it to open main.dat in your PA install folder. I did this with WinRAR, so your milage may vary if you have another program. First make a backup copy of main.dat, then open the original and double-click materials.txt. This will open materials.txt in Notepad. Ctrl+F (or Edit > Find) Treestump. Change the Properties value to Rubbish. Close Notepad. A window will pop up saying you've changed the document, do you want to save your changes. Select Yes (or you can just save from the menu). Back in WinRAR, a window will pop up saying materials.txt has changed, do you want to update the archive? Select Yes. Play the game. Now all tree stumps will immediately be picked up and put in garbage bags.

You can just make them demolish treestumps by planting a foundation or other path on top then canceling it.
it's way too complicated the way you wanna do it.

A patch of grass or dirt works too.

why dont you simple publish this as mod.

1. go to the mods folder
2. create a new folder
3. create in this new folder the manifest.txt and a thumbnail.png
4. create a new subfolder data
5. create a file materials.txt
6. insert your tresstump in the materials.txt
7. publish the Mod

advantage: you dont have to edit the original materials.txt every update!
