I haven't been able to figure out how to get them to move to cells. They just seem to be stuck in limbo.
Its a bug.
There is ample space in my prison, yet some prisoners just do not get escorted to a cell for some reason. This prisoner has been hanging out in my infirmary for many days now. He's been repeatedly treated for starvation health damage but he will not go into a cell.
The entire map is surrounded by a perimeter fence. Prisoners are not allowed outside of their cell block except under special circumstances, like a parole hearing or for healthcare. Contraband in my prison is close to 0.
The other 157 prisoners have all found cells, but not this one. If it was a problem with my prison then why did everyone else get to a cell just fine?
I had a bunch of other prisoners also refuse to go to cells. I've been able to, more or less, manually assign them cells, but I still find them wandering around outside of their cells, stuck and unable to do anything. Guards don't escort them back to their cells either. I have to repeatedly manually re-assign them to cells.
Everything seems to work much smoother now that I got rid of the reception and holding rooms. After getting rid of these rooms new prisoners go straight to cells. These two rooms seem to cause problems where prisoners are found with contraband on intake, resulting in them getting stuck.
I kind of found a solution to my problem...it's because I had too many armed guards (I thought they'd behave the same as a normal guard but they don't.. they just walk around witha gun and don't do anything else)... but even then, I had 40 guards, 6 dog patrols and 4 armed guards to 74 prisoners......I think that should have been more than enough anyway...
anyway, I resolved this by firing all my armed guards and hiring like an extra 10 guards... I also reduced the number of guards being deployed in areas so there will be extra/excess of normal guards and even then, the rate at which these prisoners were being escorted into their cells was at a snails pace....
I hope they add some sort of function where they let us prioritise which job/task is done first (e.g. when you want a prisoner searched, that job is prioritised above everything else.. hope they'll let us chose which ones gets prioritised, or maybe they'll make escorting prisoners to cell more of a priority).....
I've had 3 naked prisoners die from starvation in the reception area and there's just poo everywhere....
Oh really ? Oh man i built a 80 man cell block all level 3 rooms.
You might want to consider adding a holding cell. It just generally makies things run more smoothly.
