Seeing into cells
Hi all
So, I have my cell blocks, with a 2 square wide path between the cell doors on either side. So my guards walk straight past all my cells, but they apparently can't see into them unless I actually make them walk into the cells (and if I was a prisoner on minimum security and a guard came in every 20 minutes I'd be miffed).

Is this working as intended, or am I doing something wrong?

Normally a guard can even see through walls in Cellblocks.

Are you using Holding cells or do you have lots of seperated blocks with large jail doors?

FYI 3 guards in the image, 2 had walked the length of the bottom row before turning around and crossing on the way back.

I assume I'm doing something wrong! :(

The cells have to be in a cell block with a corridor outside the cell door.

That path is desegnated as 'outside' isn't it? that's whst's causing the error. I'm not sure is it's intended or not but gaurds don't see well through a exterior wall only interior ones.
Ohhh, how does one designate a cell block? I've always just put down cells, then designated them to be low/medium/high security. The whole prison is walled in, in fact that section was cornered off for a while.

How do you make it indoors/a cell block?

Just dragg the foundation too over the whole desired area, then build your cell inside it in a way that they could be comploetly lock away from the rest of your prison. I think a pic might make more sence so here is a correctly set up cell block:

So... what I did was take a field, build a huge wall around it, then lay foundations for a block of cells, offices, canteens, yards etc..., but each room is in a field really, though with a wall around it.

So you are saying I should lay a huge foundation, then lay more foundations within it? Presumably you then designate the cells as cells, but leave the corridors as unallocated?
Wait I think I see... So you designate a huge foundation, then use walls to split it into cells, then designate the cells. Then the corridors are foundations and so indoors.

The corridors stay undesignated right?

Correct.
Got it! Made my new prison along those lines, worked super! Thanks for the help.

Sadly just as I thought 'maybe I should have a guard in the shower with them all...' a riot started and it turned out half my prisoners had shivs (2 had drills... in the shower... where did they hide it and that sounds like an electrical nightmare!).

Current issue is getting my prisoners to learn how to use circular saws, they say they want to learn, but no-one turns up. I'll have a read of a guide.

Another valuable lesson learned... don't forget the metal dectors lol
Amusingly after everything was calm again and I thought we were good, someone brushed the metal detector as they walked by the workshop and set it off. Cue half a dozen guards beating the snot out of the guy until he dropped the shiv :)
