What happens to babies born in the prison
Do they stay babies until their mothers are released, or do they actually grow in the game's time? I know for a fact that years pass quite quickly. Or does anything else happen? I know they stay with their mothers...

For some reason I am going to guess that they stay babies forever lol that or after a certain time they leave? I am not sure but I do not see them growing up.

None of mine have progressed beyond age 0, I currently have 8/100 as mothers, my nursery wing is full at the moment.

I am worried about Isabella though, she's ex-law enforcement and she often runs to the fence to retrieve cigs that someone throws over the fence for her. Guess I gotta build a PC wing (with a nursery, I suppose) before she gets shivved in the yard.

i have heard prison food should be horrible maybe thats were the babies go
Yeah, i think they might just stay babies forever because i haven't seen any of my prisoner's children age up. Haven't had a child beyond 0 years old. I hope they impliment more features with the kids. I'm also curious as to what would happen when the children reach a certain age (will they be taken away from their mother? be placed in foster care? go with their mother's realtives on the outside?)

Certain prisoners IRL allow female prisoners to raise their children up to a certain age, but when the child reaches that specified age, they have to leave the prison as raising a child in prison wouldn't be productive or good for the child's further development.

I'm also wondering if they'll add the dark but realistic element of prison pregnancy and have pregnant female inmates waiting to pop... This is dark for obvious reasons: in female prisons, there are cases of guards raping inmates, sometimes a woman a few months into her pregnancy gets put in prison, ect. but if the subject matter is too sensitive, i wouldn't go nuts over it not being included.

For now, I just want a little more interactivity with the kids and the female prisoners with kids as they don't really do much. As far as i can tell, they don't go to Yard, they don't work in any of the facilities where prison labor is an option, I haven't seen any in any classrooms for reform programs and for free time, they go to their family cells. Even the nursery is somewhat of a useless room as it is right now as not a lot goes on in there (i haven't even seen the play mats be put to any use). Currently as i see it, the babies add some realism to the game but they're more of a burden than a major difference in gameplay that would make running a female prison more interesting than the default male prisons.

the prisoners have allways stayed the same age even if they have served years so i think it might be the same with babies

I've seen them use the play mats, and sometimes the mothers go over to the nearby canteen with their babies to use the prayer mats. I also put a couple of phone and TVs in the nursery, they use them occasionally.

The only reform program I've seen them attend with their baby is the AA program in the nearby common room.

ETA: Okay, I've seen them go to school and chapel as well, so apparently they attend some reform programs. Haven't seen any moms carrying their kid while running workshop saws yet though ...
