What's the best way to deal with Protective Custody Inmates?
Called in 16 inmates and turns out one of the unknown reputation imates is a Cop Killer and a Snitch and he was immediately killed on site in the canteen. decided to reload so that i can put him in PC and send him to Solitary to save his life for the time being and to get him as a CI.

I was kinda thing of putting the PC wing on the other side of the road and leave them there and give them everything they need over there where they are no where near the Max and Super Max prisoners. also figured maybe i switch their regime so that when the other inmates are asleep the PC wing is awake and when Gen Pop is eating they are working and while Gen Pop works they are Eating and when Gen Pop is Locked up they are in the Yard/Common Room. this way they have no contact at all with the other inmates and they are completely on the other side of the road.

If you have no cells to keep them in separate from everyone else, hold them in lockdown until you can build them.

Personally, i have a small area of 6 - 8 cells with all the things they should need - prayer mats, showers, toilets, phones, benches, chairs, etc. in the cell or their own yard. They have their own small canteen and kitchen with a single table and I keep these people behind my administration area, away from everyone else.

I did toy with the "everyone sleeps, you do your stuff/you sleep they do their stuff" regimes, but in the end i just lock them in the small part of the prison away from everyone else. It seems to work.

You should give the PCs their own Canteen and other facilities instead, if you have the money for it. It's not worth having them run all the way across the map just to get some food.

This is one of my older PC wings. They can't leave, but they have everything they need.

If you are short on cash, or space and are confortable using advanced schedualing options you can try a set up like this:

PC has a cell block, canteen and yard to themselves and direct access to all learing facilities. All the violent inmates are in thier cell blocks at all times PC is allowed out in the main facility. It was a bit tricky to get the timing right but it's worked out rather well accually.

As a starting solution:

Build a separate building for the protective custody and low security inmates, separated in two or more block. Because low security are very unlikely to carry an attack, and it will be more profitable.
Courts and canteen places are where most of the attacks happen and should be avoided. You can build a small court dedicated to your snitch, and let them eat before or after the other inmates. Against with or without low security ones.
Informants and dog guards are invaluables to protect thoses places.

can anyone tell me dimensions for a 8,10,16, or 20 capacity complex for PCs?

that would include everything they need.

right now im in the middle of designing a complex that is about 16 tiles high with walls. have managed to make a very nice looking complex for 10-20 PCs but i have to keep going back and redesigning it to fit everything after kitchen and canteen. like just now i was in the middle of adding in phone booths and weight benches and then i forgot i needed room for the laundry and everything else i know i am missing like workshop, library, etc...

want to design something really nice that can fit 16 high dimensions with everything they need inside.

Instead of asking people "How do I build dis?", how about you simply try for yourself. It's a Trial And Error game after all.

alright here is my 16 Capacity Protective Custody Wing if anyone wants to use it:

set foundation to 33x16 then build everything inside. i like it and they get everything they need. too bad i have to reload and do it again since it was just a test :(

comes with 8 showers, 16 bench seats and was even able to fit in 4 solitary cells if the PCs misbehave :)

Well it depends what you are want to give them, and how you like design it. It also depends what cell size you chose.

I just build a whole new prison complex to the side of the prison where they can live in peace. They get their own reform programs and so on. They give me no problem.
