Prison Architect: A management and building game.
Escaping from prisons is very basic. The mechanics for that are very shallow, interactions between yourself and prisoners/staff are almost non-existent.
The Escapist: No management, no building aspects, whatsoever.
Lots of interactions with other NPCs, more environmental aspects, tools, different stat system.
Apples and Oranges.
I don't know... IV has only said that they will providing updates for the next year... And PA has existed for over 3 years... I think escape mode wont change much in the next year. I reckon more features will be developed for the normal mode and I majorly hope that IV sorts out the persistent large prison lag issues in the next year...
In the escapists the main game is obviously to escape prisons.
Which is why I think PA is better than Escapists in whole.
Escapists gets boring real fast for me, I wanted to like it.
PA is loads of fun with the recent updates and with escape mode I can get what I wanted that Escapists didnt really deliver for me. With the bonus of it being my prison. Total opinion, but its mine.
If not, the modding community will definatly inspire Introversion to make the Escape mode more massive.
Why did you post that link?
Prison Archietct is a more broad management game, which still involves strategy but of a different kind.
I would personally recommend Prison Archietct if you like management games like SimCity, but it's up to you.
