Why are my prisoners suppressed?
I read up on the prison architect wiki about prisoner suppression. My prison has 43 prisoners, decent cell ratings (minimum grade 8/15), and I have no armed guards at all. I even removed my armory to assure this.
My staff consists of:
15 workers
40 guards (with tazers and body armor)
4 cooks
5 janitors
2 gardeners
4 doctors
warden, accountant, psychologist, foreman, and chief

The suppression level is usually around half of my prisoners. My only suspicion is the fact that there are a lot of gang members and violence happening.
My question:
-Do gangs or deaths cause suppression?

Punishments probably, cold showers also contribute a little bit.

By default, prisoners who commit violence get lockdown or solitary, which suppresses them. The suppression remains for some time after lockdown or solitary ends.
