Hi all,

I started a women's prison, and noticed the family cell and nursery as new rooms added to the list. Anything I should know? Any tips? Will the women be as cruel and violent as it was with the men? Do we know how many babies are living in the prison? Do I have to zone bigger cells? Are the needs more tough to satisfy with women ? (like hygiene and whatnot).

They are arriving pregnant I assume, what's the ratio of pregnant VS non-pregnant prisoners when they arrive? I don't think it would make sense to become pregnant while being a prisoner, right? Any tips? Thanks.

well for mother with their babies you need some family cells (min size 4x4) and the nursery. The mothers will mostly stay in the nursery with their babies.

Well yes, the reputations and traits of your female prisoners should be a bit different to the male ones. But whats a pregnant?

no pregnant womans arent implemented. They arrive already with a little child.

If you fill a prison via the intake card, family cells will not count.

But, if you get a mother in X amount, they will be sent to said family cell.

I don't understand. The only way to accept prisoners is with the intake, right? So all my prisoners will arrive with their babies via intake? So if I welcome 20 prisoners, 3 have babies, these 3 prisoners will automatically go to family cells while others to regular cells?

Indeed. Mothers can only use family cells. If you wish to limit the amount of mothers coming into your prison, you should have a higher ratio of normal/max security intake levels than minimum security intake levels, as I have recieved, on average, two mothers out of every 20 prisoners using the default intake levels (70% normal, 30% minimum).

Prisoners will only enter your prison as mothers or as normal prisoners. Save file editing aside, there is no way a normal prisoner can be converted into a mother while in your prison.

So you're telling me that 2 out of 20 minimum security prisoners will be mothers? So if all my family cells are full, I should stop accepting minimum security? No mothers with medium or maximum security ? Does it mean also I should be permitting minimum-only access to all family cells?

He said he hasn't checked the numbers for each security level, but if you're taking in 70% normal security and 30% minimum security you can expect roughly 10% of your new inmates to be mothers.

Put all of your family cells in a walled off area from your other sections, seperate them with staff only areas. You can do the same for any cell type and place any services inside that area. Prisons within prisons, it's how I keep each security type segregated, it's just a matter of doing it again with family cells.
