Hot Water = Unplayable Prison

My 600 inmate strong prison is unplayable!

1. The prison is freezing! I got radiators, but can´t build a hot water system fast enough, until inmates ran amok! No introduction period.

2. Furthermore the travel distance of hot water, is TOO low. I have to virtually build boilers everywhere now! In cell blocks, staffrooms, canteen, common rooms, visitation, parole, chapel, hallways, outdoor, indoor.......everywhere! My cell block´s alone, requires nearly 60 boilers. I think the entire prison needs around 100-130 boilers to be fully heated.

I was looking forward to do some prison gaming this easter, but that idea is gone now. This update have made my prison unplayable...... or at least, a depressive experience.

You can remove the need for hot water with a small fix:

- Go to your save game (in %appdata%, local, introversion then prison architect)
- Go into the saves folder and locate your save game
- It'll be a huge .prison file - open this in notepad
- A few lines down it should say 'EnabledWater True' Change the true to false and ALL water needs will be disabled - pipes will no longer be necessary and radiators and showers etc will work automatically ( this does remove the need for water, however, though)

I literally have like 3 boilers and I only have 50 inmates. It's crazy how low the range is.

you have to install the boiler local, worked fine for me, during the installation i had a riot. but ya, happens :) and the range of the hot water depends on the water pressure...

I have a fun bug... None of my prisoners will take a shower. They are all hooked up correctly to boilers and have no error but the prisoners refuse to use them. 20 Deaths per day thanks to the hygiene never going down. Each cell has a shower with hot water. They never use it.

true same to me, i began a prison. I had 500 prisonners in my prison. Have a lot of riots in the canteens and now theese new boilers. I was happy to. Wanted to get them because i love realism. But when i realised that the boiler could only get +/-30m water away. I bugged (in my head).Thei should realy add some kind of large tube for the hot water. Now i have theese boilers everywhere on the outside.

I did what was said above like I have before on other things on editing save files. As I was building another wing of my prison that hasnt opened up yet, the kitchen caught fire. Then all of a sudden the blinking red drops started flashing saying radiators and what not need hot water. I saved game. Went under the saved game file, the "EnabledWater" was set back to true. I changed to false and reload game but now the "red drop| " icons are still there and flashing. WTF..? I cant even add in hot water pipes to most of the cells because they are mainly all gangs. GREAT! Even if I go back into the saved file name its still listed as false....?????

Yeah the range on the boilers is garbage... they need to increase the output dramatically, at least 3x what they have now.

Showers will work with just cold water or with hot & cold water. (You can run the pipes on top of one another.) Prisoners won't use them with only hot water.

Seriously? I thought that it was hor or cold, not the two together. Tank you very much for the information. Is pathetic how whe need to find for ourselves how to play the game, because the new "top priority" feature added was not explained enough by the devs.
