What does CCTV Improvement do?

I can't figure out what changed after I researched it.

It gives you the ability to buy CCTV monitors and CCTV cameras. This way you can monitor rooms and take away the fog. It also helps spot prisoners doing malicious things. Guards will be alerted to them faster.

Each CCTV monitor is 1x3 so make a nice size security room. This way more can be added when needed. Each one can house 8 cameras and a guard must be stationed at each for them to work.

They are found in the objects section once unlocked.

I know what CCTV itself does, but does the "CCTV Improvement" Upgrade change anything? Does it cause guards to automatically respond to prisoners doing stuff in the camera's cone or something? What do you mean by "Guards will be altered faster"?

Under deployment. It will have a new CCTV cone option. Turn it on to see the camera's FOV.

If a camera is on a prisoner doing something bad or has a weapon. It will alert a guard to search that prisoner.

in cctv improvement you can see the camera view cone (which is optional, you can turn the cone off - still works), and if it catches a prisoner doing something bad it alerts you on screen that something is happening (like the guard alert thing when there is a fight) and it informs the guards...

previously, the normal cctv, only cleared the fog and suppressed the prisoners

once you research it, it does it automaticaly, you don't have to install anything extra, other than the normal cameras and the cctv monitor

I find it useful, one of the good things they've added into the game
