Canteen won't register Prisoners

So i've made a canteen and conntected my two cell blocks to it, however the canteen keeps saying there isn't any prisoners assigned to the canteen. I've tried removing the canteen room and re-adding it a few times. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting the cell blocks a few times. It's just refusing to register that I've connected the blocks to the canteen.

Insecure pathway (prisoners can run away between canteen and cell)

No, I'm pretty sure there isn't. In a different prison I had, there was a bigger pathway between the cell and canteen than there is now.

You should have a red line coming into the canteen from your cellblock to the canteen. Try clicking on your cellblock and dragging a red line to the canteen (since auto assign doesn't appear to be working). Zoom out some and take another pic if necessary of your cell block in Logistics and in regular view.

I'm not sure what kind of door you have between the kitchen and the canteen. If its staff door, i'd replace it with a regular door or even a double jail door (it'd probably be helpful to have a 2nd door on the top part of the room to give your cooks more options to move around.

That didn't do anything. I'm still having the issue that the canteen can't detect the cell blocks.

I figured it out. I ended up having to add a door that connects right onto the canteen. I don't know why it wasn't working until then. I've never had to do this before.
