Hi, sorry for the loud title. So my problem all started when I sold my prison, and tried to get a new one. However, my money wasnt there, so I attempted to change the data files. I couldnt open this file, as it was using crafty doc viewer or someting. I think what I did next was delete the application Prison architect, and then planned to re download it. However, now, it just says failed to exuctute something, so i tried deleting steam. That failed however, so i tried re downloading it, which worked. But i still cant open prison architect. I really love this game, so if anyone knows any options PLEASE help. Thanks so much.

Also, I also deleted all my other game when doing this, however I can still open Terraria for example

Attempt to run a full reboot at the command prompt if you have Windows 8 or newer. http://www.thewindowsclub.com/force-full-shutdown-fully-reinitialize-windows-8 Just remember to save anything you want saved, as running the command at that link will shut down your PC right away!

This will fully reinitialize Windows upon next startup. If that doesn't work, you can try running scandisk on your main hard drive to see if their are any file system errors.

I don't anything about Crafty Doc Viewer , but PA saves are just plan txt files. They can be edited with notepad (and that is likely the best way).

Also, if you have an AMD card with play.tv running (it may be running even if you didn't want it installed), close play.tv (or do what I do, and perm disable it from loading at boot in its settings). a recent update to play.tv is causing lots of peeps to not be able to start PA.

If none of that works, you can try going to C:\Users\[your_useraccount_here]\AppData\Local\Introversion\Prison Architect and deleting preferences.txt, or reading debug.txt for more info.

This happened because you probally didnt check the option to Take the prison funds or something

I think we'll first worry about getting PA working for him, then we can talk about modding save files to carry stuff over again. Its completely possible.

Thank you so much for your help! I first attempted to do that full shutdown, but nothing changed afterwards. I also tried deleting preferences, but nothing happened. I tried retracing my steps, and realised the problem was steam thought the entire game was on my computer, but only some of it was. So I rightclicked it in the library, and clicked remove all game files or something, then re-downloaded it. This fully worked, and now my game is back to normal. Again, I thank you for your detailed answer.
