Canteens+Kitchens=Not Working

Every game that i've started up lately is having the problem where the Canteen isnt being "Detected" by my cells and the kitchen which results in all my prisoners starving to death. I've used the in game assignment tools to no avail and have found no answers on the internet and you can see it with your own eyes in my screenshots.

That went away as soon as I got prisoners coming in. Weird bug indeed.

it will always do that. because there are no prisoners assigned to eat

if you're cells/dorm aren't in secure areas, the game will not assign them a safe path to prisons to follow on their own.

You also need to fill a 'room' with probably at least 1 prisonner before it becomes avaible.. cooks don't cook without people to cook for.

you have 2 problems at the same time:

1. your main entrance is unlocked, that creates an insecure area, that your prisoners arent allowed to pass (this should fix the errore message of your dormitory)
2. you have some outdated mods installed, to find out deactivate them. Its a mod that overwrites the canteen with the old room defintion (i think pre A32 or sth). Most likely Grant mods copied an old materials.txt, but it could also any other mod, too.

away from that, i would remove the door to the shower room, and marke the shower room also as dormitory, so that the shower are within the dormitory. this has to positive effect, that the prisoners can use the shower also on lockdown time.

edit:
btw that your doors all stay open is not a bug, as long as you have no prisoners. this makes it easier for your workman to build up the prison, but you unlocked the main entrance door manually

The main thing is u have no prisoners, that msg will go away as soon as u have some.

nope, this message wouldnt have gone away. This message what you mean, is that there are no prisoners assign to this canteen. This shows up in the canteen itself, well it would have shown at the screenshot, if the mod would have been up to date or removed.

it says the prison is closed and he has 0/12 prisoners, theres even no staff. I've had that msg before as soon as prisoners arrive the msg goes away.

So making a shower within a Holding cell bugs it out, and apperantly if i 'fix' it the msg says there is no canteen for the prisoners and that the kitchen has no access to the canteen.
