Programs Question

I painstakingly designed a regime where no program should interfere with another.
However, no one is attending them. When i go to the programs tab and click "start" - programs come up with black dots (people attending), but with my regime - there's nothing but gray ones (empty).

Will gray ones fill up as people sign up for it, or should I give up on this regime?

Can you send a Screen shot of you regime and the grid program schedualer so we can be sure everything is correct?
As long as the programs are durring work time, the rooms have the necssecary equiptment (like chairs for AA) and sec lvl designation you should be fine. As a side note prisoners wil only attend 1 self-help program at a time, so if you are trying to get them to enroll in multables you are wasting your effort.

As a secondary question, is it possible to get by on only min security prisoners? I'm creating a baby prison basically. Fluffy kittens and rainbows with luxury cells. (And then insane solitary punishments for the littlest things if reform doesn't work. Mwahahaha.)

I'm just worried it may not be viable money-wise, haha.

It's very possible with parole. Min sec have short stays and the parole bonus is the same as it is for maxsec guys.

Min sec prisoners are huge money makers. You have 50 prisoners up for parole soon, build 20 parole rooms and schedule 40 parole hearings per day (You'll have over a million dollars before the week is up!)

You have very long work hours... that's going to cause you a lot of trouble further down the line. Poor concentration... they'll pee everywhere, they will get angry because their other needs aren't met and they'll start killing teachers.

Check to see if your Classrooms are blocked by staff-only paths, as far as I know, if your prisoners can't reach the room, they will not attend classes.

Also, if your prison is small and you have a whole bunch of different courses occuring at the same time (like you have kitchen safety, gen-ed, workshop, spirit etc... a prisoner will only go to ONE of those programs). Space the courses out if you can so that you won't have conflicting schedules.

Another thing, prisoners have to complete the Foundation Course before they can start General Education - this might take a month, so be patient.

the dark grey are simply open spot. the light grey are potential spots that cannont be filled due to a lack of equiptment. Other then possibly adding more stuff so that those spots can be filled things look fine. Remember prisoners will only particibate in 1 program untill that program is over (total days not merly the session). Most of your issues will be solved as you get more inmates. About 100 min secers will begin to make you a good profit on ER's, by 200 you are making it faster then you can spend it.

Yeah, I noticed General Ed took a long time, so I just let it overlap with a few things for now since I doubted people were going to be in it for a while. I'll make sure to have a huge amount of parole rooms since I do remember that piling up in my notes, but giving me a bonus when they left.

I didn't know light grey are potential spots. That's interesting! I'll make sure to have multiple rooms hopefully this time.

honestly, you can get away with 1 room for nearly all programs. Classrooms and kitchens being the 2 exceptions. Fro 300 prisoners I run 3-4 foundation ed, and 1 gen ed. For kitchen safty 1 run 2 kitchens worth of programs. You will need more then 1 workshop for workers (I run 3-4) but you can only run 1 cert program at a time (need formen)
