This is a fresh re-install of the game now and I have no mods added. Was working before, but now it's not.
EDIT: starting in safe mode, quitting, and starting in normal mode fixed it for me
Lucky you. It doesn't work for me
I'm having the same problem. Been playing PA since the early Alphas and I've never had it give me this message. Tried a number of things, from unsubscribing to all my mods (all two of them), verifying game cache, uninstalling and reinstalling PA, manually deleting the Workshop folder in Steam, etc. Nothing has worked, the message keeps coming up every time.
The solution step by step is:
1.right-click on a empty space on your desktop
2.click display settings
3.now you should see an indication that you have 2 screens attached - as in there's a 1 and a 2.
4.press identify to figure out which output is attached to your screen
5.put the "multiple displays" setting to "show on x" where x resembles the identifier number that was returned by the "identify" command
This worked for me on Win10 - i guess it more or less similar on all windows platforms.
