Is there a shower bug?
So I my inmates where complain abou hygene so I gave an extra shower block later in the day. Unfortunatly though it's after the a meal and all 239 inmates bum rush the showers in the two closest cell blocks. While this is a bit funny seeing this mob of prisoners have an orgy in just two showers, it would be nice if they returned to their respective cells and showered there. This has caused a few issues having that many prisoners piled up in such a small space. Is this supposed to be like this?

Prisoners always go to the nearest shower to them when shower time is called. So if they go right after lunch then yeah, they are all going to dogpile into the nearest shower. You can get around this by having a lockup period to send them all back to their cell, or even a work/free time period will disperse the prisoners first.

I think if your prisoners are complaining about hygiene you may just need more showers, or more free time (prisoners will shower in free time if they need it), or maybe consider putting showers in their cells so they can shower during lockup.

But really one shower time per day should be enough, assuming they have enough time to get to the shower. If you put a free time after it, prisoners who are still dirty after the shower will stick around and hose off.

But since hygiene builds up over the day, it's pretty normal for them to need it when they wake up. If you don't have hygiene needs left over right after the end of the shower time, then you are probably fine.

Yeah the hygine was consistantly high. I'll try and do a lock up period, that makes a lot of sense. I'm pretty sure I have plenty of showers. I'll play around with it. Thanks!

My canteen always has a 'side area' where prisoners can go off and fulfill their needs before/after they've eaten.

Showers, toilets, prayer mats, tv's, weights, telephones, etc.. all usable during eating time.

I had a couple friends that put TV's and phones in their canteen's. I thought it was a stupid waste of money.......seems like there might be something to that. lol. Thanks for the tip!

Heck yeah, it works great. You really don't need Common Rooms at all (except maybe one for the AA meetings).
