Women Prison?

Did NOT realize I'd made a women prison. Is there a way to change it without starting a new game? If not, is there a way to start a new game BUT use this prison I've built? It's a monster and took over 7 hours to build... Thanks!

Find the save-file (There is a dedicated "Open Save Folder" button the game, if you don't know where to find them.
Open the file you use with Notepad++
Somewhere in the first 30 lines you'll find something containing the word female or women similar. Simply delete the entire line.

I haven't used this one in a long time, but I know for a fact that it works. I don't remember what phrase is in there exactly.

I highly recommend you make a backup, in case you mess it up.

Any babies will remain in the prison, you will probably have a lot of weird looking haircuts, but those things fix itself over time.

You can use Trixi's Dev kit mod to remove all the current prisoners and start over after the save file edit.

Most obvious reason is that you cannot control prison intake - prisoners with babies require family cells, and they will be arriving regardless of whether you have any capacity. There is no way to disable this short of closing the prison entirely.
Note that the game only counts family prison capacity but not number of family prisoners, so you will have to count them manually so see how many family cells you have left.

Plus, family cells are coded differently from regular cells (regular cells are combined into cell blocks, family cells not) which makes them annoying to handle.

they are now correctly combined into blocks, just as an FYI, but yea family cells make things a bit more difficult.

When I started my prison I didn't know about babies, so my family wing is a bit out of shape and messy in my general symmetrical design, but now I'm building new wing for family cells that is quite symmetrical! Also women with children have not that big punishment times, so they free cells really quickly (esp. with parole). I have 13 family cells for now, and in 190 prisoners prison its enough for now (new wing will have 18 family cells).

P.S. Also the best thing is male guards patrolling shower rooms ;)))) And strip searching new prisoners in Reseption ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

The same is true for minimum security prisoners, and yet the game doesn't feel the need to hide the number of minimum security prisones from the player. Annoying hassle is not the same as meaningful challenge.

Women prisons are fun. The b!tchfights, the voices, the extra stuff to handle... It's been a good addition to the game. For a well running female prison look here:

To solve the problem of mothers, just put them in a shared area block - they won't fight nor kill snitch mothers in there.

Yeah, I like to watch a pretty symmetrical prison when being busy with it for a long time :) Gives you better control and overview as well on all the different security sectors.
