-$6 base price. FAR more reasonable than their $10 DLCs.
-It's original. They didn't copy Murgh's mods or anyone else's, so far as I can tell.
-Additional mechanics beyond what a mod could create.
-Focused on prison; unlike "Going Green", where you could run a solar/robo farm instead.
-Higher % of positive reviews.
-Released with a long list of bug fixes. They're trying.
I'd say this is pretty stellar behavior. Folks complained, myself included, and Paradox listened. I want to encourage this sort of behavior. I'll update you once I've bought and played around with it.
that's just because so many people got burned by the previous ones, that pretty much only the absurdly hopeful and sycophants remained to purchase it.
Also, last time I checked it had 7 reviews. maybe wait for a more representative sample
These two are actually reasons I'm thinking to buy this one (never bought any DLC yet, since they all were not actually related to prison management, so not interesting to me)
I think the cost is something everyone has to weigh up individually. As a adult, I can buy few other 20+ hours extra (probably into the hundreds more accurately) entertainment for £6-7, even if it's a buggy experience, and for me it's always workable with that, and as a seasoned PA player I know I'll get at least that. Someone newer to PA, or all but done with the bugs they've already run into, probably wont and to them I doubt the price will be worth it.
Too early to say about gameplay, but while I rarely have HIGH hopes, I know I'll enjoy at least a couple aspects of this and for that I'm satisfied. I'm just glad this game is being actively developed, as controversial an opinion as DLCs might be. Paradox aren't my favourite developer by any means, but they're doing some free changes alongside DLCs and that's more than some would give a game.
