2. are these cellblocks pairs supposed to be separate from each other? if so, maybe give them a Staff Only buffer zone so the game doesn't auto cross connect.
To have the game "try again" to connect them, de-zoning and re-zoning should work, after you have put the Staff Only sections that disallow prisoners to crosspollinate.
2. all 4 cell blocks actually do share other areas so placing a staff-only zone in between is not an option.
I should just be able to assign a cell block to a canteen. The cell block in question used to eat at the canteen I want to assign it to, untill I built the new one. Also, if I close off the passage to that new canteen, the game automatically assigns that cell block to the canteen I want those prisoners to go to. However, when I remove that blockage it just goes back to the second canteen.
I am actually able to assign kitchens to canteens by simply clicking on them, but when I do exactly the same with the cell blocks and canteens it doesn't work...
I don't think this should make any difference: I am actually on the (I believe)last chapter of the campaign. I have not tested this in sandbox yet.
in food logistics, you can forcefully override the default behaviour with your plan. do the connecting lines show?
sounds like something that would happen if the cellblock and canteed belonged to different security zones?
screenshots would really help in further troubleshooting here

I apologise for the sound by the way. this headset sucks and I am recovering from an operation on my nose so I talk a bit weird on top of that :')
I'm gonna start a sandbox game and recreate this. maybe it's some problem that only exists in the campaign...

So let's conclude that for some reason the game will not let you change canteen assignments in the campaign...
Whenever I try to set a room's coverage in logistics it just defaults back to the auto-assignment it has come up with. Same when I try to reset a kitchen or canteen via right-clicking, just defaults back. I'm positive this is a bug unless there was some major change I'm ignorant of.
EDIT: This is in sandbox mode, so there shouldn't be any research/resource conflict.
throw screenshots so we can look at what's wrong.
In logistics I have been clicking on the canteen circle getting the red line attached to the mouse but it simply will not accept the cell block assignment.
