No sounds on Linux?
Hello all,

Not sure what happened, but one day my sounds stopped working. I've tried the GOG version, the steam version. I've un-installed and re-installed the game a few times, and am kinda out of idea what to try next.

I get no more error messages.

yep, tried that. I think your joking, but I'm being 100% honest. I made sure my volume was at max before I launched the game

sure...I actually just tried that, and couldn't figure out how to run the game. Its just run and the game file...right?

Ok, so I got the game to run through the CLI, from within Lutris. Here's the output:

Quick update, I have sound. I followed the instructions here: https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?p=1685838#p1685838, installed vulkan again, and could change my audio settings to the lowest hz option. Sadly, *that* setting isn't saving. Every time I exit and start the game, I have to re-change that setting. Then I can run the game.

Maybe try updating PC to get the setting to save? It says you have mint 19.1 Im running 19.2 and have never had such problems. Hope this helps.

I check for updates once a week, so far as I'm aware, I'm 100% up to date. Will check again tomorrow.

Yes but just 'checking for updates' Does not work to get a fully new version, If you go to Update manager, Edit, Update to Linux Mint 19.2 Tina and follow instructions you can update PC to Linux Mint 19.2 , as stated at https://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=3792, I hope that this will help fix your settings.

Ok, thanks for those instructions! As I don't know how long that update takes, I haven't run the system update yet.

But, after some experimenting, I was able to determine that I don't need to switch the sound frequency in the game. I simply need to go into the sound settings and hit 'apply'.

Will update when I have a few hours to spend on a system update.

Oh...So new update as well, pre-system update. Turns out, I can't load my mission 4 save either. No idea why, but I do have output from my last attempt to run the game.

Hokay, so I went ahead and did the upgrade. I'm now on 19.2 Tina. Same issues though

why? This is the only program experiencing this issue. I think its a Prison Arcitect issue, not a Linux Mint issue.
