Co-Ed Prisons

I have an idea for @Devs to see if, there is a possibility of adding an Option to have Co-Ed Prisons to add more into the game. This would add more in the way of planning out a prison to include Females to a Male Prison and Vice-a-Versa.

What do you all think of this idea?

NO... You don't see co-mingled prison in the real world for a reason. So why would/should it be included in the game...

the gameplay mechanics are different in this game for females vs males. so it wouldnt really be possible. prisoner behavior is coded and acts differently between the two genders.

Sure, why not?

This shouldn't be too hard to make. The game just has to remember gender on an individual prisoner basis. Right now, a lot of these things depend on global prison settings instead.

I think it could be an interesting challenge, especially considering that women's needs differ slightly from men's in this game.

I understand the reasons for it to occur in Real Life. Prison Architect is a game about running a prison. So, Prison Architect should IMHO be one of the First Prison games to have Co-ed Prisons. It would shake things up for us players. Also, why do we have to keep the game confined to Real Life Rules on how to have a Prison? Is, the reason that people would not play because it does not conform to Real Life Rules and Standards? or would it make it too hard for the players to think outside the box and build a prison that has such.

I agree that the game does this. How hard would it be to change it so that it is on an individual basis. It might take some work but, i believe it can be done.

I'm quoting Rokk on this and i agree with that line of thought. Think about the new way of having to build a prison. it would make for some interesting play through.

I'd really like to see this for a couple of reasons.

A. It would be a neat challenge, and you wouldnt necessarily need to go into the darker implications of this If they dont want to.
B. I like to role play a despotic dictator and It would be nice to have a mixed gender population to opress with out having to install a mod and end up getting prgnent men showing up randomly.

They dont have to make it a gamemode but it would be cool as a mutator.

Actually, funnily enough, there are such things as real world co-ed prisons. It is a thing.

It is not "adding" something new, it is "rewriting" something that already works and works amazingly. I'm afraid that such a fix could add countless bugs and totally ruin gameplay for months, until they are fixed (if they are fixed). No no no no no. I'm not ready for it, I really enjoy this game, thank you.

I hate this idea especially how OP wants it to be the devs doing it and not just some mod. This is prison architect, not fake world fantasy simulator. As stated before they dont have prisons like that in real life for a reason, why would they have it in a prison simulator?

There are a lot of county jails that house both. The women's block/s are separate from the men's section.

For FING Sake. they dont even make childrens sleep away camps coed for a reason. But Op wants it part of the game? In a FING prison?!?!?!?!?!?! OP your idea is stupid and it is pointless. It in no way would make the game better. If anything it would make the game worse by adding in idiotic situations.
