It's in Reports\Policy. Research it if you haven't already.

It takes 6 hours to research.. I have less than 4 hours to complete this job. What will happen when staff go on strike? Game over? or can I recover from this? I dont really wanna start all over...

I think you have 24 hours of strike to get them their pay rise. It's all new.

Yes I got a new 24 hour and now I gave them a 50% pay rise and they stopped strike.
This game is like is still in alpha stage. I have the same problem. Staff asking for increase in wage and I can't raise the wages. Really good game design. Congratulations

Did you even read this thread? OPs problem was solved, why don't you try it as well? No game design barrier at all here.

Yes I read. OPs problem was solved because he researched Policy in the extra 24 hours. I don't have money to research that. The game cannot put a problem that requires research to be solved. Why do I have to make research to raise wages? That is not even realistic.

Then why is it that IRL we have to Research? Without Research we would not grow/expand our knowledge and be able to Construct what we have today. Researching in the game is just the same as we do IRL. So, you want it to where everything is known without research! In that case we don't need research IRL then either. We should know everything.

There are things in-game that follow what is done IRL to make it as real as possible. THe time it takes to do anything in-game is what we also do IRL.

How do you think we find better ways to create things in IRL? We Research and Test and Research more till we get it right.

So, complaining about having to Researching Stafff Wages in a game is the same as complaining about having to do Research IRL. Or even better, Why do we have an Education System? :steamsalty:

I'm not sure what you are all talking about but, to increase the staff wage you just increase it in the policy menu (the one that has the meal variety and stuff) it's in smaller writing near the bottom. It's very quick and easy can stop a strike in seconds. Tip: the amount of raise they require continually increases if you have a lot of staff members being killed on duty. Over time this can scale and potentially ruin your prison. So, don't let your staff die. Since that update I now make sure that anyone who kills or attacks my staff are taken seriously.

Policy menu is only available after you research it.

yeah for sure thats kinda the basics, I cant imagine anyone needing to raise staff wages but not having researched policys. Usually one becomes an issue long before the other, not to mention Policy research is super cheap and easy. It is designed to be done at the begining of your prison.

You can't imagine? You spend money making your prison, you obviously dont have money for staff needs, the prison is dirty because even to make basic cleaning you need to research. Prisioners get angry, staff gets beaten, you don't have a hospital. There you go, strike.

If I need to mke: 1) Hospital. 2) Research policy, hospital, cleaning. 3) Make staff room. 4) Take care of everyone needs (temperature, cleaning, spirituality, family, etc. ALL AT ONCE, I need 100 K to start with, not 10K as it is. It needs time to build those stuff but they want all at once.

Oh and I forgot Laundry which is also a basic need. Just count how many rooms a basic prison needs and stuff and equipment and plus staff getting pissed off. You need to cheat.

I can understand your objections. There is kinda like a early game that you have to go through before you start building all that stuff.

If you follow the grants they will guide your income to help you grow into a full scale prison. If done as designed you will have your 100k in 5/10 min. I understand it may seem overwhelming at first but it works and I'm sure you will get the hang of it.

Its also worth noting that staff wage increases can be avoided almost entirely by making sure they dont die and providing basic needs. The needs that you mentioned above are not what I would consider important start up needs.

As far as the research goes Im fairly certain that I get most all the basic research done with only the money provided from first 2/3 grants. Pretty much all that research is done very early with the exception of things like off shore tax haven ect. I'm sure if I can accomplish this then you can to.:huntdeer:

The game is claiming my staff aren't being payed at all, and giving them a pay raise isn't raising their pay, any ideas?

Probably a bug that will never be solved. There is a bug that they keep ordering staff food even when its unecessary. Same with mail. As I said, alpha, never got to final release.
