Staffroom suddenly isn't supplied by the kitchen
Everything happened after this update. Before Update 12, it worked perfectly but now it doesn't. I've tried the food logistics menu and manually set the kitchen to serve the staffroom, but then the canteen isn't supplied by the kitchen. Do I have to run two separate kitchens?

Edit: Adding two pictures that show what happens:

My staffroom/canteen as usual:

When I override the kitchen with the food distribution option:

Note that yesterday I played and it worked perfectly. Today my prison architect was updated and this began to happen.

Alright then, I'll report that as a bug and if I get an answer/fix I'll tell you

I've made some tests with the new behaviour of the staffroom, and I noted that if you do not assign with the foods logistic tool a kitchen to that, your staff meals will keep stacking in your deliveries/storage room.

So what I suggest is that for the time being (until the devs either fix this or confirm that it is working as intended) you override the kitchen during the "sleep" hours (since you don't need the kitchen then) so that your staff meals get moved to the staffroom. Then you set it again to the canteen.

If anyone has more info or wants to share something, go ahead!

EDIT: When you link your kitchen to the staffroom, your cooks will bring clean trays while your workmen will carry the food.

The Kitchen has never supplied food to Staffrooms/Canteens. The Kitchen just cleans their trays. Staff Meals get delivered and carried in by Workmen. If you want it to be Staffroom or Staff Canteen, you need to mark it Staff Only.

Yeah, I know. The problem is that cooks no longer clean automatically the staffroom trays, which angers the staff due to the fact that they can't eat.

Got a fix for it though, in the food logistics window, you can link a kitchen to more than one canteen/staffroom by holding shift when you link them.

Wut....the....crap...

Hopefully they patch this because this can NOT be working as intended...

I thought you could always do that, so my question is, how does this "fix" this issue? I mean if they're not delivering the trays, cleaning them, or etc. how does it help to have multiple areas?

I usually have one area that's staff, one that's low security, one medium, one max and then iso...

If we do separate buildings and we only link them to the designated areas, can't we have a staff only area that is also staff only kitchen room so they don't keep going back and forth dropping off garbage and not cleaning trays?

Edit 1

Okay, so from what I'm reading is if the kitchen area is staff only they should be doing the trays? Correct?

So then if you need a staff canteen/room with the kitchen if you have a staff marked area, and perhaps "RESTRICT" the area around it, then perhaps it should stop this "bug" as there isn't any way for "an inmate" to come near the area or for a cook to try to go elsewhere if in the logistics the kitchen/canteen is marked for the staff only and no arrows go outbound to other locations. That's the only thing I see to "resolve" this bug until it's fixed.

Does it work for anyone else?

Well, what is currently working for me is to have a designated staff canteen (aka a normal canteen marked as "staff only". Hope they patch it up ASAP.

Yeah I think it's meant to work that way after examining it. I know that before if prisoners were close to other canteens it would cause a conundrum (max security trying to shank minimum people idk why) and etc.

So I DIVIDED them out and marked designated only. So perhaps the devs don't want Officer Bob sharing a cup of joe with Ted Bundy...
