Staff or regular door question.
For areas like laundry, cleaning cuboard, workshop and similar, is it ok to use regular doors?

If they need to get into the workshop or cleaning area or medical rooms or visitor rooms for the things these rooms are for, they're going to take things from there anyway when the door is opened for them to go there.

For ALL the rooms that jasonharris2 posted above (except Workshop!) normal doors are ok.
BUT....put metal detectors in front of doorways to infirmary and kitchen (to catch metal contraband).

For workshop, simply put a double jail cell door for the opening and keep it locked open. Be sure to put metal detectors in front of that door also.

If you want some examples of decent setups, I have an old guide (in the process of upgrading it...but it still works) that answers alot of questions people have about the game.

Hope that helps.

laundry - No staff, it is prisoners work
cleaning cuboard - No staff, it is prisoners work
workshop - No staff, it is prisoners work

You put a staff door on places where you want staff only areas and will not be a easy way to just break the door and run.

What is the point of having a workshop if you will not allow in any prisoners? They will just take stuff from it when they are working anyway.

The cleaning room is only for prisoners to help clean anyway, there is no point in having the room as they steal when working.

Medic room is useful if you don't have any programs, but with programs it is worthless as they steal when in the program.

Vistor room. Just use booths already

Kitchen. Have you thought of metal detectors? They can basically only steal metal stuff and stuff smuggled in, if you search everything that comes in they can only steal metal that the dector find.

Most of those rooms have no point if you use staff doors. They don't actually steal in freetime but when they are in programs.
