If all you did was build walls with no foundation, they have to come down or you can't put a floor/foundation under it.
So yea, if you want buildings you lay foundation first, you can't build a foundation under something without tearing it down first
I don't know how is this "practical" since you will have to meticulously tap tiny areas of foundation on pause for it to be good, but if you insist on building the walls first, this is how you do it
why don't you befriend the planning mode more?
Okay it sounds like its not possible. I had used the planning tool, I just wanted to stage the construction, so I built the inner walls of the prison before the foundations. I was hoping the foundation tool just put external walls and a roof over the top of the whole thing. I didn't realise it tore down all of the walls inside the net. I thought this was a bug, but if its designed to do this then so be it. Thanks for the advice :)
