In any case you should have 2 fences or at least be blocking them from being close to the outermost fences anyways to prevent them from getting contraband thrown in.
Haven't spaced them out enough though, contraband does get thrown in.
Probably could be shorter but it works for my needs so I haven't felt the need to change it.
If giving up 13 tiles to thrown contraband prevention seem to much to you, just remember you don't need to have the 13 tiles be blank you can put a building to fill that void and just have the door facing into the prison which is outside of the contraband trowing range.
