Not exactly the schedule I would want to live by, but it seems to work for them.
What would you do if your long cell blocks take a long time to walk to transit?
I would shorten the cell block and build new cell blocks somewhere else. There's no reason to extend existing ones, if it's obviously not possible to properly support an even longer cell block.
My cell blocks are around 6-8 cells long and i actually never had a problem with travel distances.
I just talked about length, not width.
I didn't played for quite some time (started 2-3 days ago again) and doesn't have any big prisons so far, so i might add some more picture later, when i've build the rest of this prison.

This for example is my max security design. In this case i just used a length of 5 cells resulting in a total number of 40 cells. The person with the longest travel time is the inmate in the top left corner, who needs like 25 minutes to get into the canteen. However, getting them into the shower first already reduces this time down to 20 and i could have get even more time when placing the canteen entrance to the left. But this wouldn't make any difference, as 35 minutes are definitely enough to get them fed up most of the time.
And for medium and low security i'm just mirroring this kind of cell block to the other side of the canteen, doubling the amount of inmates, while the time they need to get there is still the same (i just add some more doors to get them in faster).
And well, in the case of a 200+ design, i wouldn't actually send them right from the cells or free time/work to the canteen, but actually to showers or yards first, which are placed near the canteen. But i don't like getting that many prisoners in one place, so i can't send you a picture about it right now. I'm more like a divide&conquer-type of player.
