Stop using warden mode on existing save
Just put up a nice prison while using warden mode for the first time. Turns out to be real annoying for situation awareness and i want to stop using it while keeping the prison. If at least we could idle in the office and get a full view of the map (without being able to build), it would make it workable but its just a pain the way it is right now.

Any way to do that?

Yes, there is. Follow the instructions below:

1. Go to your save file you wish to edit. It should be in AppData>Introversion>Prison Architect>saves. Open it with Notepad.
2. Hit CTRL+F and search for
AvatarControl true
3. Change it to
AvatarControl false
4. Now, hit CTRL+F again, and search for the following line:
BEGIN WardenMode
5. You should see something like this:
BEGIN WardenMode IsActive true WardenId.i 1390 WardenId.u 4222780 InventoryView true SprintTimer 4.016063 BEGIN Inventory SlotEquipped -1 BEGIN InventorySlots Size 2 "" 29 "" 0 END
BEGIN InventoryAmmo Size 2 "" -1 "" -1 END
END
BEGIN GuardSquad END
END[/code]
Delete everything between BEGIN WardenMode and the END farthest to the left.

6. Save and exit your save file. Warden Mode should now be disabled.

much interesting, could that be made the other way around? like lay down a prison plan in Normal Mode, save and then activate Warden Mode? Since i cant find either in my savegame...

Ah nice, man I though wardenmode would be fun, but planning/building is a pain, why do I have to move through my prison? Never heard of blueprints that I could review instead? Also hey you got a death, prey you are close enough to see what the cause is of the death as reports don't exist to tell you that the death was caused by overdose or just someone being shanked.

At least now that you can disable it that save is no longer lost, so thank you very much!

Yes, you can do it the other way around. This guide best explains it:
