How do you keep the floors clean??

Sorry, im new to the game and would like to know how you're meant to keep you're prison tidy, I dont like seeing grubby marks all over the place.

you don't need cleaning rooms to hire janitors. Howeverm you need to research "Prison Labour" for cleaning rooms to become avilable. It is stated in the tooltip of the "Prison Labor"

Hire like 100 janitors and your prison, will be sorta clean.

also make sure you give prisoners enough time to use toilets or they will ♥♥♥♥ everywhere

janitors and dont hesitate to put those little sociopaths to work with cleaning rooms

The cleaning rooms are just so prisoners can clean as a labor task. It's useful, but you will still want some janitors as well, so cleaning continues 24/7.

This is gonna sound really nooby, but how do I actually asign the prisoners to work in the workshop, laundry, cleaning rooms, etc..

I think it's in the logistics menu once you unlock prison labor. You select prison labor in the menu and you can click on rooms to add worker slots.
